Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Mental Health Specialist

Jamie Kanehl is a dual-board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Pediatric Mental Health Specialist. She attended The Ohio State University for her undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis on early childhood development. She then went on to Duke University for her Bachelors in Nursing and Masters in Nursing to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

After starting her career as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Jamie realized the exponential need for mental health care resources and she found her passion for the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders. She returned to The Ohio State University to complete the KYSS fellowship for child and adolescent mental health to obtain her board certification as a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist and has served as the primary mental health provider at her clinic in Jacksonville, Florida for the last three years.

Jamie has partnered with the Mindful Therapy Group to offer in-person mental health services in Vancouver, Washington as well as telehealth visits. She also continues to practice as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at an integrative and holistic pediatric primary care practice in Jacksonville, Florida.

Jamie currently resides in Jacksonville Beach, Florida with her french bulldog, Guinness. She loves to golf, travel and spend time with her family and friends. Her first passion as a child was basketball and after playing varsity basketball in high school she became the manager for the Ohio State Women's Basketball team in college. She has coached youth basketball for over 15 years and continues to enjoy to serve her local community. Most recently, she enjoyed teaching herself ukulele during the Covid-19 quarantine. Jamie strives to get to know her patients as individuals and to find out what their passions are. She puts an emphasis on incorporating those passions on a daily basis to live a more balanced, fulfilled and happy life.
